Editorial policy
Updated 2026-10-29
This policy is the standard for every page on virtueandasledgehammer.net. The last full pass recorded on the pages is 2026-10-29.
Sources we use
- Steam store pages and the public appdetails API.
- Devolver’s game page and press kit.
- Metacritic, OpenCritic, HowLongToBeat, PCGamingWiki, SteamDB, SteamDeckHQ.
- Named reviews and interviews (Rock Paper Shotgun, Polygon, Screen Rant, and others linked on the page).
- YouTube videos, using the title, upload date, description, and chapter markers. A timestamp is cited when a chapter comes from a video.
Rules
- A figure needs two independent sources before it is written as checked.
- One source is labelled as one source. Steam store pages, its API and its translations are one provider, not independent confirmations. SteamDB and Exophase mirrors do not independently establish an unlock condition.
- Conflicts stay side by side. Metacritic 80 and OpenCritic 76 are not merged.
- No estimated file sizes, coordinates, or ending outcomes.
- Guides do not copy another game’s collectible list. Twin Mirror pages are out of scope.
- Quotes stay short and link back. We do not reprint a full review.
- Scores, prices, and review counts carry a “as of” date because they move.
Corrections
Email [email protected]. If a correction is accepted, the page date changes and the old number is not quietly overwritten without the new source. We do not take payment for a score or a ranking. There is no user-review widget on this site, so there is no house rating to inflate.

Sources and check date
Public sources checked: 2026-10-29.
Figures supported by one provider are single-source snapshots. An API, store page and translation from that same provider are not independent confirmations. Conflicts are preserved; unknown values are left blank. Editorial policy.
